Reflections on "Peach Blossom Shangri-la"

This story describes a fisherman getting lost and finding a perfect land. The entire idea of this story is utopic in itself. Does everyone not dream of finding a lost land that no one else knows about? The land is described so beautifully, with ponds, land, and houses. One thing that stuck out to me that gave it the perfect, peaceful feel is that the fisherman points out that he could "hear the sounds of chickens and dogs." To me, this gives the feeling of home and comfort. This picture is beautiful to me. Another huge part of this utopic idea is that they are completely unaware of the outside world. There is no knowledge of the current political situations, causing no needless stress on the people. The people in this land are very trusting and not skeptical of the fisherman at all. This shows us a beautiful innocence that the world today could only dream of. This story hits on a lot of things that are very similar to what my own, personal utopia would look like.
