Reflections on "The Hunger Games"
The Hunger Games is a movie based on a futuristic distopia in which the world is split into twelve districts that surround the capitol city. These twelve districts work to provide the capitol with its necessities. Every year they have a national games were a boy and girl are picked from each district and they are forced to fight to the death on live tv. Ever since I began researching my personal utopia and decided that my focus would be unity and equality I have no been able to stop seeing inequality as the root of most distopias. There is always a constant struggle for power and dominance. There is no exception in the Hunger Games. The society is built on the idea that the people in the capitol live in wealth and the people in the districts live in poverty to better the lives of the people in the capitol. Inequality is the root of the devastation in this movie.
